About "Fit It In The Fridge"
Get your child in on organising the fridge and pick up Computational Thinking skills like pattern recognition and decomposition! For your child to master this game, practise "Label the Groceries" as well! It will help remind your child about the categories of food.
Materials Needed:
• Refrigerator
Instructions
By learning how to categorise different food items, they are able to hone their pattern recognition skills based on recognising common patterns and traits among these food items:
- Take out stuff that you want to organise in the fridge.
- Educate your child to group foods according to categories (dairy, meat, drinks, vegetables, etc.) If they don't know each category, explain it to them (e.g. dairy are milk products, and so are yoghurt and cheese).
- Here comes the fun part - test your child which category each food belongs to! Make sure to do it slowly, item by item.
- Indicate which location in the fridge each type of food should go to, and instruct them to place it there.
